Word of Life Uganda is rejoicing as they celebrate the graduation of 54 students from the Word of Life Africa Bible Institute on Jun 15, 2024. These students, coming from various countries including South Sudan, Malawi, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and Uganda, have spent the past year deepening their understanding of God’s Word and preparing to impact their communities with the gospel. Additionally, they had five graduates from the Word of Life International School and ten pastors who have completed their rigorous three-year Bible Training Center program.
This year’s graduates are stepping out with a firm foundation, ready to serve in their home countries. Among them is Amito from South Sudan, who, alongside her fellow students, participated in a three-week internship that allowed them to immerse themselves in ministry work. They visited schools, trained church leaders, shared gifts, and engaged with communities, all while boldly sharing the gospel and experiencing profound growth in their faith.
Reflecting on her internship, one student shared, “It was amazing to see the passion of the church members despite the little that they had. My faith was challenged to see their devotion!” This sentiment resonates deeply as we consider the incredible faith and dedication of the communities our students served.
Pray that these new graduates will hold steadfastly to the truth and serve passionately as they return to their regions. Amito and her classmates are eager to apply what they’ve learned as they step into their next chapter of ministry.
In April, they hosted a group of 24 second-year students from the Bible Institute in New York on a Missions Reality trip. Their time in Uganda was filled with opportunities to share the gospel, encourage women at a pregnancy center, paint a playground for the Lower School, and lead a youth camp for the church. Their efforts were met with incredible results:
- 1,134 people were reached.
- 147 individuals made decisions for Christ.
They welcomed new students in July and are continuing the work God has called us to in this region.
